Cat
You come from Sentinel Ledge.
You come from the Hall of Watching.
You come from the auditing of squirrels.
You come from reckoning the leaves left on the tree.
You come from radiator warmth.
You come from your morning observances.
You come from the precision of cleansing-by-tongue.
You come from the tasting of winter under-front-door.
You come from Hall of Watching to Chamber of Couches.
You come from wooden ledge to blanket.
You come from action to inaction.
You come from solitude to me.
Mary Soon Lee was born and raised in London, but has lived in Pittsburgh for thirty years. She is a Grand Master of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association, and three-time winner of both the AnLab Readers' Award and the Rhysling Award. Her latest poetry book, "How to Navigate Our Universe," answers vexing questions such as "How to Surprise Saturn" and "How to Survive a Black Hole."
