Invisible Sculpture

after Yeseul Song at yeseul.com/

My hands hover
above a small slot
in a black rectangle about
4 feet tall, that is silent without
headphones that remain
silent without my hands
moving to orchestrate the sound,
to sculpt into a shape
I find that exists
with the movements
of my hands
I play with loud and soft,
creating a shape
that is barely there
before it is already gone.
After, I'm asked to form
a piece of clay into
the shape I made using
the sound I encouraged,
sculpt it into a three-dimensional
form of jagged mountains
and flat roofs of what
I made or did they make me
do their bidding as I walked
in the throat of my mind
and made of silence a joyful noise
I could almost see.
