Rainbow Planet

My four-year-old daughter
Looked me in the eye and said,
“I go to the Rainbow Planet,”
In her dreams,
Where she rides on flying elephant unicorns
And turns flowers into butterflies
When blowing on them like birthday candles.
She eats elephant monkey cookies for breakfast
And lives on a cloud.
She’d rather go to the Rainbow Planet,
She said.
“Can I come too?” I asked.
She whispered,
“You have to close your eyes.”
