The yearning matter has
for its opposite
as though it wants
to die in the arms
of its fascinating
counterpart.
You be cat fur,
I'll be amber
and together
we'll make
the dust fly
and the air snap
as any distance
between our beings
cannot be borne.
The opposite
of despair,
the conviction that
happiness lies
in the one having
an abundance
of what one lacks.
