The Big Sleep

Night falls on the city. The human swarm
from the streets moves inside the houses and
the gust of the sewers starts to gurgle louder.

The smoke forms a question mark above every chimney
and below on each window the children leave the stamps
of their curious faces.

The Great Bear travels across the eternity and observes
how the fireflies of the windows burn out one after another
and bring the sleep.

At last, the milk of the morning spills along the horizon's edge.

And the sun's fists hit
the leaves of the cherry
in that empire which
makes the connection
between today and forever.
