New Gallows

New gallows shallowly cover
And infiltrate with the WiFi
Connection, there’s not a buffer
To hide, the spectacle is high
In the sky or on the TV
Or in a bland office break room
A community murder tree
Necks splinter before us, we zoom
In, the entertainment costs us
Our souls, love for a stranger
A memory, indifferent pus
Oozing out of so-called failures
We haven’t changed these thousand years
The sentiment is the same sneer
