Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange Celebrates 50 Years

Join us at South Side Presbyterian Church on May 18, 2024, at 7 p.m. for a reading, anthology launch, and more

Before there was Uppagus—long before Uppagus—the Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange was doing it in real life. In a winding, indirect way, Uppagus began on the second floor of City Books on Carson Street at a Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange workshop. Michael Wurster has a lot to do with that, and deserves credit for guiding Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange through five decades.

If you're anywhere near Pittsburgh on May 18—or want to be—consider yourself invited to this event. If you show up, you'll see yours truly and lots of people whose work has appeared in Uppagus.
