The Art and Craft of Self-Promotion

There's a certain amount of inborn talent involved when it comes to getting one's endeavors noticed. Here at Uppagus, we lack that gene. But we still swim in the pool. (As it should be; we definitely could use more exercise.)

To that end, we'll say here that the mom half of Uppagus has an upcoming reading:

Readings from the Edge of the Earth
Featuring Ed Murray, Ziggy Edwards, Ed Bortz

When: Sat., April 5, 2 p.m.
Where: AF Booksellers
119 Edgewood Ave.
Pittsburgh, PA
412-735-6756

This only got first mention because it's coming up soon. Back to Uppagus. Last month, we happily participated in our first joint reading: part of the Homunculus Write-Read Series, hosted by Literary Arts Boom (the LAB). A good time was had by all, and we would love to see more flash fiction readings (as well as receive more flash fiction submissions).

We've dipped our toe into various social media; this time, let's talk about Facebook. Please visit our page and "like" us if you haven't already. After all, we like you! If we're already soulmates on Facebook, maybe you could tell some of your friends about us. There's plenty of soul to go around. Tell them to send in flash fiction/poetry/visual art, too.

The reason we want word of Uppagus to spread far and wide is not to become rich and famous. The real goal is to get as many submissions as we can possibly handle. Keep them coming! We'll tell you if it's too much. As we often remark in these pages, content is what keeps us going. The eye is always reading.

Of course, we don't want to promote a defective product. We do our best with this site, but we're just a couple of human beings. If you've experienced any technical problems on Uppagus, you've probably found a bug. We continue to work on fixing these. To report new bugs or view bugs we know about, go to uppagus.com/bugs.
