(Eastern Standard) Time Is Relative

In our part of the world the days are shrinking, cooling, darkening. Human lives get that way, too. This might be the theme of issue 3, if you detect one.

But things always change, and change again. That's what they do.

In this third issue of Uppagus, we have a trio of new firsts:

  • A translation by Kirk Nesset of Edmundo Paz Soldán's flash fiction.
  • Photographs from a contributor we don't know personally, Eleanor Leonne Bennett.
  • An interview (the first in a series) with Michael Wurster about his role in the Pittsburgh poetry scene.

Then, of course, we have the usual firsts: all of the work you'll find here. We're really pleased with this issue of Uppagus, and already look forward to the next.

That's why I'll say again: If you are reading this, you are a big part of what we do. We don't need money to keep going — we need content. If you don't have anything you want to send us, encourage your friends. And spread the word! The more people know about Uppagus, the more content we'll have for future issues.

Housekeeping note: If you've experienced any technical problems on Uppagus, you've probably found a bug. We're still working on fixing these. To report new bugs or view bugs we know about, go to uppagus.com/bugs.
