Welcome to Our Experimental Phase
(No Hair Was Dyed)

Celestial objects have aligned so that issue 2 of Uppagus is also Uppagus 2.0. We've made so many changes that we could — and will — take up this entire space describing them.

Visual artists can contribute to Uppagus, too.
In this issue, our photo gallery feature lets us showcase the work of our good friend rstjohn. We'd like to continue doing this in future issues. If you want your original images to appear in Uppagus, see our new submission guidelines for visual art.

You can follow us in your favorite social medium.
You may have noticed our new "Social" link in the menu at the top of this page. Yes, Uppagus finally broke down and joined the 21st century. Uppagus Jr. made a convincing case that it was necessary. If you click on that "Social" link you'll see all of the social media we've gotten into, but here's a lengthier recap:

  • Facebook. Everybody and his grandmother has one, right? If you like us, please go there and "like" us.
  • Twitter. There's something appealing about a 140-character limit, even though we haven't had much to say yet. Follow us and get the latest Uppagus news in byte-sized chunks.
  • Google+. Some people have these. In an effort to achieve total social media saturation, we made a page, too.
  • RSS feed. If you have a feed reader, you can get automatic Uppagus updates.
  • IRC (chat). Converse with fellow Uppagi in this moderated chat room.

We've created an online laboratory of sorts.
Uppagus Jr. made a new section of our site called Uppagus Experiments. It's where he plays around with code and makes "pages that sometimes do useful things and sometimes don't." Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but that's creator's modesty. Check it out if you're curious.

Co-founder Higgs has his own "About" page.
Uppagus Jr., a.k.a. Higgs, made his own spinoff site. It's all about Higgs. This is where you'll find news about things he's trying and experiments he's considering.

Uppagus Sr. will eventually have something similar. But maybe not as swanky.

We won't always change this much between issues. But we'll never stop improving!

As a reader and/or contributor, you are a big part of what we do. We don't need money to keep going — we need poems, stories, sketches or photos, doodles. If you don't have anything you want to send us, encourage your friends. (Imaginary friends are welcome.)
