Uppagus Speaks (and Spells Its URL Differently)

It's been a busy autumn so far. The first Uppagus reading, by all accounts, was an overwhelming success despite some technical difficulties. No beer bottles got hurled through the air as at Wobbly Joe's in ye olden days of Pittsburgh poetry, but plenty of coffee was slung. Some of my favorite people and poets attended (not that these two categories are mutually exclusive). We had figured on just getting through this one, seeing how it went. Based on people's feedback and my own enjoyment, I think we will have to work on a sequel featuring contributors from issues 3 and 4. Stay tuned for details.

We hope you like this falling-into-winter-themed issue. And, although not everyone who lives where this transition is now happening likes it, we hope you at least get a chance to appreciate nature's beauty from behind a window. Preferably in the same room as a safely contained fire.

Note from the art department: Send more visual art, please! We still want everything, but could especially use pretty pictures.

Technical note from Higgs: Uppagus recently moved to TLS/SSL, so now everything's encrypted (http:// is now https://). To take advantage of this, the way most resources are loaded had to go through a minor change. For some reason, ad blockers now block the social drop-down, despite the fact that there are no ads on Uppagus. If you use an ad blocker, disabling it for Uppagus will fix this.

As always, thank you for reading and contributing!
